2025 Summer Sings (Two Separate Events)
The Octavo Singers will hold summer sings on July 21 and August 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Niskayuna Reformed Church, 3041 Troy Schenectady Road, Niskayuna. At the July summer sing, we will be previewing Hayden’s Mass in D Minor and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. For August, we will be previewing Holst’s The Cloud Messenger and Brahms’ Schicksalslied.
These informal rehearsals are open to everyone — returning and prospective members alike! At each event, we’ll sing through some of the pieces we’ve planned for our upcoming season, providing all attendees an opportunity to preview the music and giving prospective members a taste of what our regular rehearsals are like. Whether you’re a long-time member, thinking about joining, or just want to enjoy an evening of singing with others, our summer sings are for you!
There will be a $5 charge to cover expenses.
Summer Sing Logistics
To simplify things for quicker check-in at summer sings, NO membership registrations will be
initiated at the door. Member registration can be completed online (see below) starting before the
first summer sing up to the beginning of each concert cycle.
There are two ways to participate in a Summer Sing:
1. As a registered member
Those who register for membership online (see below) before attending a summer sing will have the option to purchase the summer sing(s) during the registration process. Purchased music will be available for pickup and outstanding balances (as applicable) will be collected at the door.
2. As a prospective new member or an unregistered returning member
Those who have not registered for membership prior to a Summer Sing can pay for the summer sing at the door and borrow music for the evening (which must be returned on the way out). Information on how to register later, including a link to this webpage, will be handed out.

Register Online
We are rolling out a NEW online process for registration that we expect will make it easier for singers to sign up and easier for our leadership to manage concert rosters and member communications. From recent and past returning members to those signing up for the first time, everyone will register for the upcoming concert or full season at our new chorus management site, Choir Genius.
From the landing page linked below, singers who already have a Choir Genius account can log in to start the registration process (this includes most people who have participated since December 2023). New members and past members who don’t yet have a Choir Genius account will create a new account then start the registration process.
